How to play HitMasters

HitMasters is a music trading card game, free and playable in your browser. Every record is a real song, and its rarity follows its real popularity. The loop comes down to four moves: open, listen, shelve, sell.

Updated September 25, 2026

1. Open a pack

A free pack arrives every 10 minutes. They stack up to 5 in your stock; once it’s full, the timer stops, so come back before then. New players start with a full stock.

Each pack holds 5 different records. Each one is pulled at random, independently of the others: no pack is guaranteed, and none can be bought.

The odds for every certification are published on the pack odds page.

2. Play the preview

Every record plays: the 30-second preview streams from Deezer while you listen and is never downloaded. Playing previews moves your quests and your level forward.

3. Build your collection

The records you pull go into your collection. File them into folders (up to 50), find them by album and put your favorites in your profile showcase.

Press albums

Every album or EP fills up one track at a time. Once you own all of its tracks, you can press it: it becomes a “Pressed album” trophy and earns royalties and XP.

Wantlists

Import a public Deezer playlist: it becomes a wantlist, the list of songs you’re hunting for (up to 20 wantlists). When you open a pack, a wanted song is flagged. Completing a wantlist of 20 songs or more earns royalties, once per playlist and at most once a week.

4. Sell to the record shop

The record shop buys back any copy, even your last one, for royalties: from 1 R for a Demo to 600 R for a Hall of Fame. The price follows the song’s current certification, not the one it had when you pulled it.

The auction market

From level 5, put your records up for auction to other players. There’s no fixed price: you pick a starting price and a duration, from 30 minutes to 24 hours, and the highest bid wins the record. A bid in the last minutes extends the auction by 2 minutes. There are no fees: the seller gets the full final price, and everything is paid in royalties.

Trades between friends

From level 5, propose a trade to a friend: up to 3 records on each side, with extra royalties to balance it if needed, passed on in full. Your friend accepts, declines or counters; without an answer, the offer expires after 72 hours.

Quests, streaks and levels

Every day, 3 daily quests, and every week 3 weekly quests, earn royalties and XP: open packs, play previews, find new songs, press an album. Playing several days in a row grows your streak. XP raises your level, which unlocks the market and trades.

The golden rule: no real money

Royalties, the in-game currency, can never be converted into money. No pack, record or royalty is ever sold for real money: you earn everything by playing.
